DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE

No 73/2015

of 20 March 2015

amending Protocol 31 to the EEA Agreement, on cooperation in specific fields outside the four freedoms [2016/756]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1)	It is appropriate to extend the cooperation of the Contracting Parties to the EEA Agreement to include Decision No 1082/2013/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 October 2013 on serious cross-border threats to health and repealing Decision No 2119/98/EC (1).

(2)	Protocol 31 to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended in order to allow for this extended cooperation to take place,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The following indent is added in paragraph 1 of Article 16 of Protocol 31 to the EEA Agreement:

‘—

32013 D 1082: Decision No 1082/2013/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 October 2013 on serious cross-border threats to health and repealing Decision No 2119/98/EC (OJ L 293, 5.11.2013, p. 1).

Liechtenstein shall bear all its costs stemming from its involvement in the activities under Decision No 1082/2013/EU. If and when Liechtenstein becomes a participant in the third Programme for the Union's action in the field of health (2014-2020) as established by Regulation (EU) No 282/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 March 2014, the usual provisions on reimbursement of costs will apply.’.

Article 2

This Decision shall enter into force on the day following the last notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement (*).

Article 3

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
