AGREEMENT in the form of an exchange of letters between the European Community and the Republic of Hungary amending Annexes VIIIa, IXb and Xb to the Europe Agreement between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of Hungary, of the other part

A. Letter from the European Community

Brussels, 25 October 1994.

Sir,

The European Community and the Republic of Hungary have agreed that Annexes VIIIa, IXb and Xb should be amended as follows:

I. Annex VIIIa:

1. The introductory paragraph to Annex VIIIa to the Europe Agreement shall be replaced by the following text:

'List of products referred to in Article 20 (2)

The products in this Annex shall be subject to a levy reduction of 60 %.`

2. The text under the 'Description` column corresponding to the products with CN codes 1602 49 15 and 1602 49 19 shall be replaced by the following:

'Other prepared or preserved meat of domestic swine`.

3. In the 'CN code` column, the following CN codes shall be added to the list of products corresponding to the description 'Other prepared or preserved meat of domestic swine`:

CN 1602 41 10

CN 1602 42 10

CN 1602 49 11

CN 1602 49 13

CN 1602 49 30

CN 1602 49 50.

II. Annex IXb:

The following shall be added to the table in Annex IXb:

III. Annex Xb:

4. The following varieties of cheese shall be added to the 'Description` column corresponding to CN code ex 0406 90 89:

Bakony, Bacskai, Ban, Delicacy cheese 'Moson`, Delicacy cheese 'Pelso`, Goya, Ham-shaped cheese, Karavan, Lajta, Parenyica, Sed, Tihany.

5. The product durum wheat and its CN code 1001 10 00 shall be added respectively to the 'Description` and 'CN code` columns corresponding to the quota for CN code 1001 90 09 'common wheat`.

6. The quotas for carcases, breasts, legs and boneless cuts of chicken are amended as follows:

This Agreement in the form of an exchange of letters shall be approved by the Contracting Parties in accordance with their own procedures. It shall enter into force on 1 July 1994 or, if the Parties have not completed the necessary procedures by that date, on the first day of the month following the date on which the Parties notify each other of the completion of the procedures.

I should be obliged if you would confirm that the Government of the Republic of Hungary is in agreement with the contents of this letter.

I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your letter of today's date which reads as follows:

'The European Community and the Republic of Hungary have agreed that Annexes VIIIa, IXb and Xb should be amended as follows:
