DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE
No 40/2011
of 1 April 2011
amending Annex XVIII (Health and safety at work, labour law, and equal treatment for men and
women) to the EEA Agreement
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Agreement on parental leave concluded by BUSINESS
EUROPE, UEAPME, CEEP and ETUC and repealing
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic
Directive 96/34/EC (OJ L 68, 18.3.2010, p. 13).’;
Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement
on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as
‘the Agreement’, and in particular Article 98 thereof,
(2) the text of point 32 (Council Directive 96/34/EC) shall be
deleted with effect from 8 March 2012.
Whereas:

was
amended
by
Decision
of the EEA Joint Committee No 141/2010 of
The text of Directive 2010/18/EU in the Icelandic and
10 December 2010 ( 1 ).
Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement
to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.

menting the revised Framework Agreement on parental
leave concluded by BUSINESSEUROPE, UEAPME, CEEP
Article 3
and ETUC and repealing Directive 96/34/EC ( 2 ) is to be
incorporated into the Agreement.
This Decision shall enter into force on 2 April 2011, provided

that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement
have been made to the EEA Joint Committee (*).

2010/18/EU
repeals
with
effect
from
8
March
2012 Council Directive 96/34/EC ( 3 ), which is incor
porated into the Agreement and which is consequently
Article 4
to be repealed under the Agreement with effect from
8 March 2012,
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in
the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European
HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1
Annex XVIII to the Agreement shall be amended as follows:
Done at Brussels, 1 April 2011.
(1) the following point shall be inserted after point 31 (Council
