For the purposes of this Decision, electricity produced from conventional sources means electricity which
does not fall within the scope of the EEG. Moreover, within the meaning of the EEG, and under the
conditions set out therein, ‘renewable energy sources’ means hydropower, including wave power, tidal
power, salt gradient and flow energy, wind energy, solar radiation, geothermal energy, energy from
biomass, including biogas, biomethane, landfill gas and sewage treatment gas, as well as the biodegradable
fraction of municipal waste and industrial waste.
