COUNCIL RESOLUTION of 21 May 1973 supplementing the Resolution of 28 May 1969 establishing a programme for the elimination of technical obstacles to trade in industrial products, resulting from disparities between laws, regulations or administrative provisions in the Member States

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES,

Whereas the Council Resolution of 28 May 1969 (1) establishing a programme for the elimination of technical obstacles to trade in industrial products, resulting from disparities between laws, regulations or administrative provisions in the Member States made it possible to undertake systematically the necessary work to eliminate technical obstacles to trade in the sectors referred to in the said Resolution;

Whereas in recent years the expansion of intra-Community trade, industrial development in certain sectors, the increasing importance of problems connected with the environment and the protection of human health have revealed the existence of significant technical barriers in a certain number of sectors other than those indicated in the Resolution of 28 May 1969;

Whereas the programme should be supplemented accordingly;

Hereby adopts the following additions to the programme which was the subject of the said Resolution:
